Pete, early career. Fort Lauderdale.

“I didn’t know any poor insurance agents.”

The BeginningThe Expensive Education

I got into insurance the same way a lot of people do. I saw the income potential, I was tired of Midwestern winters, and I moved from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale to build something.
My first move was joining Allstate. Big brand, big sign, big expectations. I figured people would line up to buy insurance from me.

They did not.

Insurance school taught me about coverages and liability limits. Nobody taught me how to actually get a customer, build a referral partnership, or close a sale. But I figured it out through sheer stubbornness, and eventually I became a top producer.
The problem was, I was building someone else’s brand. I wanted more autonomy, more carrier options, and the ability to build something that was mine. So after five years, I left Allstate and did what seemed like the logical next step.

I bought into an independent insurance franchise.

Tuition Paid in FullThe $150,000 Mistake

The franchise pitch was compelling: proven systems, instant brand recognition, access to multiple carriers. The fee was $50,000. I wrote the check.
What I did not realize was that $50,000 was just the beginning. By the time I added up the mandatory storefront lease, the $5,000 sign with their logo on it, the office setup, the marketing package, and every other required expense, I had spent over $150,000 before I sold a single policy as an independent agent.
And what did I get for that investment? Two weeks of classroom training from people who had never built an agency. Some had never sold a single policy. The entire program was how to enter clients into their management system. That was it.
No training on how to get business. No training on how to grow an agency. No training on how to build a team. Their attitude was basically: thanks for the check, good luck figuring out the rest.
I call it paying the stupid tax. And I paid it twice, because two years later, I became that same franchise system’s first multi-unit owner. Same fees, same lack of support, same broken model.

The $5,000 SignThe Moment Everything Changed

I was sitting in my car in a strip mall parking lot, looking at an estimate for a $5,000 sign. Their design, their colors, their logo.
The parking lot moment
And it hit me: I was about to spend $5,000 to advertise someone else’s brand on my storefront.
The sign was not going to bring me business. The fancy storefront was not going to bring me business. None of the things I was spending money on were actually helping me succeed. Success was coming from my own efforts, my own relationships, and my own ability to help customers.
So I asked myself a simple question: if the franchise is not actually helping me build this agency, why am I paying them?
That question led me to build John Galt Insurance in Fort Lauderdale, a different kind of agency model built on a different belief: when the agent wins, everyone wins.

The Proof$3 Million to $180 Million

Using the system I developed, the scripts, the referral partner methodology, the training process, the operational framework, I scaled my own P&C agency from $3 million to $180 million in premium in 84 months.

Personal lines only. No commercial policies inflating the numbers.

More importantly, the system worked for other people too. Not just experienced agents. People from completely outside the industry. Three of them are below.
Proof, Not Theory

Three agency owners.
Zero insurance backgrounds.

What they had in common: they followed the system, word for word.

$30M book
before turning 30.

Started at 22 years old with zero industry experience. Followed the scripts and the referral partner system. Built a multi-million-dollar producer career before most of his peers had figured out their first year.

Zane Lefko

22 years old · zero experience

Rebuilt
to a $10M agency.

Lost $150K on an Allstate franchise. Started over from scratch, installed the system, and is now approaching an eight-figure book, running his own independent agency.

Gerry Rivas

Lost $150K on an Allstate franchise

$3M personal book
in three years.

Came into the industry with zero insurance background. Followed the system to the letter. Three years later: a $3M+ personal book and part owner of a $25M agency.

Gina Prizzi

Zero insurance background

The other part of the story.

The system is the work. But the reason the work matters is everything outside of it. When I’m not at the office, I love spending time soaking up the sun with my family, finding the best fishing spots and exploring new restaurants. I’m also a long-suffering Chicago Bears fan who left the Midwest winters, but not my sports loyalties, behind.

My dad used to say

"You got the talking part done.
Now what?"

The Pivot

Why I Built the
Agency Elevation System.

After 20+ years in this industry, across Allstate, an independent franchise, and building John Galt Insurance, I kept seeing the same pattern.
Agency owners at $2 million, $3 million, $4 million in premium who were stuck. Not because they were bad at insurance. Because they were still doing everything themselves.
Still the top producer. Still the problem solver. Still the service department, the manager, the admin department, and the billing department, all at one time.
They had built a job, not a business. And they did not have a system to change that.
There is NO guidebook, training, or program out there that actually shows agency owners how to scale.
Until now.

The Agency Elevation System

The same framework I used to scale from $3 million to $180 million, packaged into a structured, phase-by-phase path that takes agency owners from stuck producer to functioning CEO.
It is not a motivational seminar. It is not a generic coaching call. It is not a consulting visit.

What it actually is:

All of it crafted from what actually worked. Not from someone who has never sold a single policy.

14 Years Inside The System
Being part of Pete’s Agency Elevation System completely changed my outlook, on business and life.
It gave me the systems, structure, and clarity I was missing, and because of that, I’ve been able to scale to three agencies, each over $30M in premium.

More importantly, it shifted how I think: from a producer to a true business owner and builder. This program didn’t just grow my business. It changed my life.
